Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

75 cl bottle. Pale slightly hazy gold pour with a nice loose foamy white head. Lots of citrusy, hoppy aromas a bit of good barnyard funk. Grainy taste with a citric acid finale, quite dry enjoyable taste. Mouthfeel is a wee bit rough but it becomes okay when the beer sits a bit.

Bottle from Keller’s IGA. Pours slightly cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma of orange citrus, yeast, straw, farmhouse, earthy notes, and mild spices. Flavor follows suit, with notes of apricot, apples, grass, sweet malt, and some warming alcohol. Medium bodied, with a citrusy, spicy, yeasty mouthfeel. Very nice saison, and the price is excellent.

12oz bottle at Flatbread Burlington. Pours clear yellow with a small head. Nose is nicely yeasty and very fruity and citrusy. Taste is citrusy and quite yeasty. As I go thru, it gets a bit to much alcoholic on the finish. Quite dry. Good beer.

Pours hazy, light gold from the 12oz. bottle into a trappist glass at Funky Buddha (Boca Raton, FL): I feel like runing to the nearest pasture and surrounding myself with a million haystacks. Tastes of grass and earth, but not similar to the IPA style, rather a more literal interpretation of it (think legit chewing on wheat grains). Musty and tart (citrus peel) balances with some faint, bitter hops. Drinkability: An enjoyable session ale that really brings the "farmhouse" to palate. Rebuy: I can definitely have this again. #227 on 29112009, DG.

12 oz bottle, Large cream colored head. Aroma is sweet and spicy. Nice complex taste- pleasant and spicy with high sweetness. Palate is nice and smooth and full body. Tough to gauge this one after just one drink but overall a very nice and unique beer.

Golden yellow color, clear liquid. An enormous ivory-colored rocky and airy head dissipates slowly and leaves nice chunky lacings. A well balanced smell with spicy yeast, earth and sweet citric notes (oranges) to the fore. Apples, white bread, grass and a minimal note of English toffee. A pleasant smell, although it’s not very powerful. In the mouth, subtle notes of lemon and apples quickly leaves room for a slightly roughed taste of malts, white bread and yeast. Plenty of spicy notes enters in the middle and stays on for the rest of the show. Very gentle nutty aromas get through every now and then. Grass, leaves, currants and bubblegum. The flavor has a good balance between sweetness and a mild tartness. The finish is mildly bitter and has a decent amount of alcohol to it, medicinal phenols, herbal notes and hints of fruit. Medium body, well suited carbonation that’s rather aggressive yet not overly so. A crisp texture with a dry finish. A good saison. The alcohol is slightly too prominent. But still, it’s fairly well balanced with a pleasant composition of flavors and aromas. Very easy to drink. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Bomber from Princeton’s. Straw color, big foamy white head. Fresh, lively wheat/yeast aroma and flavor with fruit and tart notes in the flavor. Smooth, crisp finish.

12th June 2008. Cloudy orange brown beer. Frothy, soft and with a very dry finish. Slightly fruity undertone biut somewhat overwhelmed by a zingy bitterish malt finish. Okay but too dry.
