Belgian yeastiness with spicy and sticky fruit esters. Fruity, hoppy, grassy, piny, sticky, full-on for real brew! Very nice! chrisafari (100), Orange, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Updated: Sep 21, 2008Re-rating. On Tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro and gardens. Aroma is easters, spice, yeast, orange and banana. Pours golden with pretty clear rocky white head. Flavor begins spicy/citrus then hits the back of the throat dry and spicy, possibly from the hops. I couldn’t detect any malt in the nose or mouth, maybe it just me. Light to medium body with okay head retention, surprisingly no lacing formed on my glass. Throughout, in the nose mouth and throat, there is a nice hoppiness. Kind of surprising for a Saison. One of the best Saisons on the market! Would be close to perfect if there was some supporting malt. acearl (215), J-Town, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Gorgeously frothy head that never recedes and unmistakeably Belgian yeasty bursts accompany this crisp golden ale -- we’ve arrived at Duvel v2. I know they call it a Saison, but for the life of me I can’t think of why. Immensely quaffable, but didn’t we already have Den Duvel? jkaiser (220), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Monster head and lacing!!!!!!! Gorgeous blonde golden color. Mild hoppyness. Aroma of past victories and future love affairs. Awesome flavor, like a white beer but the yeast lends the body of this beer to heights not seen in most American Belgian beers. Simply awesome. gameface23 (131), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA

The smell was yeasty and of spicy wheat. Taste was what was to be expected from the smell. Nice lacing down the glass. drjay44 (800), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Huge, frothy, rapidly collapsing head, pale yellow and cloudy, lightish mouthfeel, pleasant hops, minimal spice. Alcohol is nicely hidden. Belgian beer styles are wonderful for their variety and this is a good one. DasGrau (18), Topeka, Kansas, USA
