Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Pours a clear light gold with a thick scoopable white head that raises up out of the glass. Lively carbonation streamers. Aroma is fruity floral hop and light lemon with spicy yeast tones. Flavour is crisp and grainy malt with a lemon and orange peel bitterness in a clean finish.

Bottle: Pale yellow color with a meringue-like white head. Nose hints at lemongrass, spice, subtle farmhouse qualities and the ever-present belgian yeast. Very crisp and refreshing...light malts, spiced citrus, mildly bitter hop notes and finishes on a dry, slightly funked up note.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Hazy yellow with a smallish head. Strongly corianded-orange-peel-spicy, very witbierish aroma. Flavor is a hybrid between wit and saison, with yeast, orange-peel, some grainy malt. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. Not really a Saison, but definitely not bad as a beer. Reminds me of La Chouffe.

Hazy bright yellow with a towering beautiful merangue head that stays forever. Light citrus aroma, soft spices and wheat esters in the aroma. Velvety smooth mouthfeel with the fine carbonation interplaying with the soft malts perfectly. Lemon sherbet, orangepeel, wheaty and yeasty and spicey, with a long dry peppery finish. Absolutely awesome!

Corked 750 ml bottle. Pours light pilsner-type yellow, with a little haze, under an airy white head. Smell shows slight tartness to my stuffy nose, Taste has a bit of sour lemon and green apple up front, backed by some European hop spiciness. A bit of biscuit dough in the malts. My label lists the abv twice: 7.5% and 8.5%; either way, I don’t really feel the alcohol as I’m drinking it. After pouring, it’s nice and fizzy, but settles down quickly. Yeah, as a matter of fact, its texture is very much like a champagne. Bright tartness and dryness stays with me through the whole bottle.

On tap at Track 84 in Warwick, RI. One of my favorite American Saisons. Pours yellowish gold with a large fluffy white head. Nose of citrus, spice, and funk. Funk very prominent in the taste. Finish is citrus and spice. Clean. Very nice beer.
