Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

Golden with big white creamy head. Aroma is too sour/yeasty for me. Taste is spicy yeast with bad after taste. Compared to Dupont, this is poor in my opinion.

Pours a bright yellow, with a beautiful head that dissipates slowly. Flavor: Hints of citrus and banana. A perfect example of what a Belgian style ale should be.

Big bottle. Nice red-brownish colour. Sweet, yeasty, malty and bit herby aroma. Good moithfeel. Flavour: herby, bitter, bit of alcohol, nice maltiness, yeast and fruits. Dry long lasting herby finish.

Red-golden with a nice and creamy head and a lively mouthfeel. The aroma has sweetness, notes of yeast, citrus, damp and musty cellar, spice and malt. The flavour also has sweetness and a quite aggressive yeasty feeling, musty cellar, spice (mostly clove), malt and citrus. The finish is citrussy. This is not my beer...

pale yellow/gold with a good snow white head that sticks around. The nose is citrus and light spice. The taste is bright, hops with lemongrass and a hint of cumin. A good amount of carbination makes for an interesting dance of flavors. It went very well with steamed mussels and toasted french bread.

Part of the 3 beer Ommegang 10th anniversary gift pack. Poured into the nice official glass that came with said gift pack, this beer is a pale gold color with not much cloudiness. The head is 2 fingers tall and just a shade off white. The foam is very soft looking but it manages to stick around nicely due to the streaming bubble columns from the bottom of the glass. Nice amorphous blobs of lacing adorn the sides of the container. Aroma is tripel-esque, but less boozy. Lots of bright fleshy fruit, some citrus twang, and some spiciness (Ommegang with a spicy beer??!). Taste includes lemony citrus rind, boozy apple, and unripe banana up front. Finish is lightly hoppy with some accompanying spice. Somewhere between witbier and tripel here. There seems to be a lot of carbonation in the mouthfeel but it’s not making me burp. Body is light and refreshing. Alcohol is only detectable with significant warming. Another quality Ommegang brew.

Aroma is of sweet apple, citrus hops (lime), light yeast, and spiceness. Pours with a large, frothy, white head with a very lightly hazed yellow body. Taste is sweet, buttery and fruity. Watery texture with lively carbonation.
