Drnk_McDermott (1517), Park Forest, Illinois, USA May 11, 2008 Corked 750 ml bottle. Pours light pilsner-type yellow, with a little haze, under an airy white head. Smell shows slight tartness to my stuffy nose, Taste has a bit of sour lemon and green apple up front, backed by some European hop spiciness. A bit of biscuit dough in the malts. My label lists the abv twice: 7.5% and 8.5%; either way, I don’t really feel the alcohol as I’m drinking it. After pouring, it’s nice and fizzy, but settles down quickly. Yeah, as a matter of fact, its texture is very much like a champagne. Bright tartness and dryness stays with me through the whole bottle. Naka (369), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2008 A beautiful pale golden color with a thick frothy white head that starts at about 3 fingers but settles to 1. The aroma is sweet, fruity, and yeasty. Toffee, sour apple, pear, peach, coriander, mild alcohol iin the nose. The flavor is a smooth fruit, with apples, citrus, and possibly even some bitter cherry. The spicy yeast in this is outstanding. Very well carbonated, but not over the top. Gives it a nice creamy mouthfeel. The alcohol in this is noticeable, but just to pops in to say hello in the finish. A slight bitter left in the mouth. TeamTrappist (121), jericho, New York, USA Jul 14, 2008 Tap pour.Poured a very light blond color with a nice big white fluffy head, it says drink me, NOW! It had a spicy belgian maybe wheaty nose.Flavors followed the nose. Spicey with some nice hop notes, saison is not my fave, but I did enjoy this.Finish was dryish with a hint of alcohol. checkmatei1 (215), Willow Grove, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle: Poured a cloudy yellow color with lots of fluffy head. The aroma was of wheat, yeast, spice and light hops. The flavor was smooth, fruity, hints of orange and coriander, yeasty, light hops. Overall, very well balanced and smooth drinking. fredandboboflo (277), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of wheat, grass, hay, earth, mustiness. Flavor of playful bittering hops, mildly grainy wheat, some mustiness/funk. Notes of citrus, citrus peel, and other spices often present in this brew were buried in the background (old bottle?), but the result was still stellar. A beautifully constructed classic. LilBeerDoctor (278), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a huge foamy head. Aroma of some skunk, funk, and sweet flowers. Flavor of nice sweet wheaty malt, yeasty funk, and light spices. Light and dry. I love light saisons and this was no exception. A refreshing beer.
