An IPA tripel, not a triple IPA! Sort of like Hop-It. Golden, hazy, surprisingly little head, surprisingly little lace. Nose of yeast and honey and some citrus abd floral hops. Taste of yeast and honey and moderate citrus hops with notes of a black pepper mini-bit. Works well, but a bit sweet and slightly under hopped, slightly under whelmed by the tripel yeast as well.

Tap at BCTC 2009. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a medium off white head. Aroma of citrusy and floral hops, bready malt and Belgian yeast esters. Flavor of the same citrusy and floral hops, bready malt and Belgian yeast. Kind of on the sweet side of the spectrum. I think they need to refine this one a bit.

BCTC. Golden orange with head. Sugary orange spicy aroma. Sweet orange syrupy very sweet fresh peach. Overly full thick sticky palate. Disappointing.

Draft, at BCTC 2009. Pours hazy orange-yellow, topped with a minimal off-white head. Aroma of caramel up front, with hints of citrus, sugar, floral notes and mild spice. The citric hops took a little more a dominant role in the flavor, along with candi sugar, caramel, grass, and alcohol. Citrus and sweet caramel linger on the palate. Decent, but one of Ommegang’s weaker debuts at BCTC 09.

Tap at BCTC. One of my favorite styles and favorite breweries here, but this one wasn’t working for me. Super under-attenuated and sweet, with a long alcohol burn, I had trouble getting much out of this. Grassy and fairly yeasty, with only mildly hoppy notes coming through. Not a fan, unfortunately.

[BCTC 09] Hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, spices, grass, pine, citrus fruits, some caramel malts, and a bit of alcohol as well. Taste of grass, citrus fruits, light spices, toasty yeast, and a dry, bitter, hoppy, lightly alcoholic finish.
