Commercial Description:
Belgian pale & pilsner malts w/ Styrian Golding for bittering and Saaz for aroma. Ginger predominates the spicing. Fermented in primary with Ommegang's house yeast, followed by secondary with Brettanomyces bruxellensis. Dry-hopped in secondary w/ a blend of hops; Tettnang being the stand-out. The flavor profile is very herbal with an earthy undertone (very fitting for a Belgian-style farmhouse ale). The dry finish and pronounced hop aromas hide the 8% abv very well. Dangerously drinkable for its strength and character.

Hazy straw colored with a strange head with very defined bubbled that look like tiny fish eggs. There is something unusual about the surface of the bubbles in the head. Spicy CO2 aroma lightly funky with some citrus and bread. Mellow funky flavor, sharp and relatively dry. Nice tangy, slightly papery finish. I like this beer.

(USA) Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !! The color is lite orange with a large foamy white head. The aroma is of funky cheese, pepper or a dirty baby diaper..... lol. Taste is kind of strange like i just licked a stamp, with some citrus notes. I am not a big fan of brettanomyces. :(

750ml bottle from batch #3, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy light orange with a dissipating white head. Smells of old cheese, funk, and light pepper. Tastes of funk, funk, and more funk as well as some citrus and peppery notes. I am glad I tried it but it is way too funky for me.

Batch #1 - 2007. Funny, strange beer. I can’t taste but the faintest of bretts. It’s there, but very much in the background. At the same time, the one flavor that comes to mind is "rum." Particularly, a well aged bottle of fine Cuban Rum - something along the lines of Matusalem or Havana Club Black Label. Pours opaque golden with very little head. Very dry flavor with some strange tannin-like flavors dancing around.

750 bottle corked and caged poured into a tulip glass has a light golden color with a frothy white head that left a thin layer. aroma has spicy funky yeast, dark malt, candy sugar, ginger, and some light alcohol. mouth feel is light and has medium carbonation. flavor has some sour funk mixed up with bitterness, spiced yeast, fresh greens, and candy sugar. hops lend the bitter resinous side with light citrus hints, wheat and grass come through but it never hits on the barnyard. finish tries to dry but comes short with bitters and funky spiced yeast.

Copper coloured body with a thick slightly off-white head - very nice! Aroma of strong malt, belgian yeast, fresh hops and a lot of spice and alcohol. Medium-bodied; Strong yeastie flavours with curacao and wheat most noticeable. Aftertaste shows some nice sugar coupled with a dry hoppy finish and plenty of alcohol. Overall, a nice hoppy and flavourful beer - definitely worth trying. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased on 12-July-2008 from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York, sampled on 20-August-2008 at home in Washington, D.C.

Cloudy, hazy amber. Smell of lemons, malt, clove, cinnamon, caramel, flowers, ginger, yeast, pepper and citrus. Tastes the same. Crisp and refreshing. Good but I wouldn’t pay $11 for it.

After unscrewing the bottle I quickly experienced the aroma while the cork exploded off the bottle unexpectedly and brew bubbled off onto the counter. Sniffing the spill, a strong spicy pear smell with wheat. Finally getting to pour, the cloudy burnt orange tan color under a fizzy white head. I really like the sweet malty and spicy tang of the aftertaste.
