Big Brett and dry-hopped nose. Crisp, fluffy and nutty flavor. Acidic, dry, and with a minute of mildness until the dry acidity comes back with floral fruit in a jiffy. Nice beer! Yum! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Funky fun! Yeasty and with some big qualities, creating that lovely quality where it pitches between straight up gueuze and white wine. Interesting citrus dimension, especially. Decent palate, somewhat sour, with a bit of life. Excellent beer. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 5, 2008 1yr old bottle. cloudy pale gold. lots of funky bret/sour in the nose. light body. more funk than i remember in the young beer. this is delightful: balanced mild acidity with wheaty, citrusy malts. mcbackus (751), Merritt Island, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 bottle batch 1 june 2007. this turned one year old so i thougt i would try it agian. pours a light cloudy straw colour with a perfectly white head that is lacy, pillowy, and a little soapy. very good looking. aroma is great with a good amount of brett coming through, floralness, earthy hay, and just slight sweetness in the background. the flavour is light and has a good hop bitter at first, then into some biscuity malts adn slight floral hop. there is defently some funkiness in the flavour adn finishes dry. with a little amount of apriicot or other pit fruit. very enjoyable may have more brett later, but very solid. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2008 batch one thanks to joey. Not much brett going on with this one. Gold with a bit of haze, thick white head. Floral nose. Biscuit malts, light floral hops, a touch of cheese, fruit, and a bit of ginger sitting in the back. Finishes light, refreshing. Kind of lame this bottle wasn’t hitting its stride yet, but still a good beer. 1FastSTi (2569), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 Batch 1 June 2007 vintage bottle. The beer pours to a plasticy lightly-hazy peach golden colored body with tons of visible carbonation. A lasting foamy starch white head sits on top. The aroma is sour pineapple and funky saison grains. Similar to Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. The flavor, however, falls flat. Pale grains with a fruity tartness and decent hop bitterness. Funk is really limited, however. Needs more acid and dryness. I would have thought that the brett would have kicked it up a bunch of notches. Very average this one is. yobdoog (1477), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 28, 2008 Originally sampled @ BCTC 2006 on tap. Did not have much of a funk presence but had more of a body and caramel malt to it than the 2007 tap version. Having had it on tap I waited to try the bottled version until the brett was active. Now there is definitely some funk going on and has a real nice saison spice profile. Very dry now and most of the fruit I remembered is fading. Great to see this one evolve. islay (477), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2008 Small sample at OSLO and Guerde’s tasting on Friday, 5-23-08. Pours a cloudy yellow with white, fluffy head. Sharp but pleasant aroma. Lemony, farmhouse smell. Soft, fluffy, and viscous in the palate. Fills the mouth. Like velvet or satin, yet there is a good liveliness nonetheless. I mention the palate before the flavor because the palate is more important than the flavor in this beer. Green apple flavor with a touch of dryness in the finish. This beer really grew on me over the course of the small sample I tried. I suspect my score may go up if I try a full bottle.
