It pours a golden yellow with a largem energetic frothy white head and has an aroma of tangy spices. It tastes slightly sweet at first sip, then quickly dries out and leaves a slightly astringent finish that vanishes after a bit. I can taste ginger, herbs, spices, and the finish is reminiscent of chardonnay. jsh12bama (345), Alabama, USA

Spices noted at first sip. Clean taste. Dry finish and very, very refreshing. Great beer. satan165 (612), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2008 Updated: Jun 3, 2009i stupidly took the cage off the bottle then thought id let it warm for another 5 minutes. the cork flew out when i was in the other room but luckily very little brew was lost. as that illustrates, this is well/perfectly carbonated. i didnt know this would even be saison-like when i bought it but its a wonderful surprise. i drink hennepin all the time but this stuff kind of makes it obsolete. there is just no way this is 8%, its not present at all. perfectly spicy and very yeasty. its nice to have (what i consider) a traiditional saison with brett flavor and a strong ABV. the more you let this breathe, the more the brett comes out of the woodwork. considerably mild keeping the dry hopping in mind, this is very drinkable. i cant imagine how much better this would be if it was aged even for a short time. the neck label on mine says july 2007 and this is just about perfect. in the end, there is so much damn brett in this it becomes a bit one dimensional. nimbleprop (947), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2008 Sampled at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. Pours a translucent yellow with a cloudy, lacing white head. Aroma is earthy, funky, yeasty and spicy. Flavor is soft with yeast funk, hay, lemons, grass and perfume. Easy on the palate, a bit chalky with some lasting funk. Very mild, drinkable and appetizing. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2008 Bottle, batch 1. Aroma of semi-sour funk, light hops, faint lemon peel. Flavor expands on the aroma, adds more light fruits and earthy spiciness, and the finish is super dry for that dangerously drinkable attribute. Stellar. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2008 Bottle, batch 1. Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of lemons, sour funk. Flavor of the same sourness and sweet lemons (but not too sweet). Dry mouthfeel. Very similar to Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere. The brettanomyces really compliments the saison to create an awesome sour and funky beer. Very well balanced and the sour/sweet notes blended together nicely. This particular bottle really seemed to age quite well (unlike some I think). I would love to have some more of this! BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2008 Batch 1 bottle from dmac, thanks Dave. Poured a hazy golden-yellow color with a thick white head that faded to a layer and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of light wheat, yeast, some light spices (mainlt ginger), and some a nice fruitiness that includes citrus (orange peel), light banana, and a hint of funk. Opens with a light bitterness with some tart funk, this leads into a barnyard yeast taste with some nice spiciness (ginger, light coriander) with some tart flavor from the brett and some bitter earthiness from the hops. Nice, I wonder how much longer this beer would hold up. Thanks again Dave, I appreciate it. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Aroma of wet hay, some light citrus notes, pepper. Flavor is dry and peppery to start out. Lemon peel and some coriander as well towards the middle of the tongue. The funk starts to come out as the beer opens up. Slight hint of alcohol at the finish.
