Draft at BCTC 2008. Poured murky golden, with a moderate sized off-white head. Aroma was primarily raspberry syrup, with wheat, medicinal notes, and a mild amount of wild yeast. Flavor was again dominated by raspberry syrup, with wheat, grass, white pepper and yeast. Disappointing. The attempt at raspberry flavor really didn’t work at all for me.

Damn, what happened here. From the brewer that you Hennepin, Ommegeddon and Biere de Mars comes this small batch saison that flat out stinks. Lots of cheap raspberry syrup in the aroma and ugly malt doesn’t smell at all like they used whole fruit. Chemistry kit flavor is one-dimensional. Fails to showcase anything good about raspberries, pale malts, or Belgian yeast, everything this should be excelling at.

Draft @ BCTC. Pours a pulpy golden color; thin, patchy off-white head. Lots of perfumy fruits, touches of funk and baby powder; not an exceptionally nice nose. Medium mouthfeel: perfumy, fruit syrup, baby wipes, and medicinal notes; light carbonation; disappointing, with an obvious syrupiness. Medium finish: toastiness, syrup, and red fruits; bland, toasty, and artificial.

Draft at BCTC. Golden colored body with a light haziness. The nose is intensely gross raspberry seeds/hair/stem mixed with the distinct smell of porta-john chemical toilets, and the flavor is slightly better, but still has a lot of stinky, plastic raspberries and sharp chemical cleaner and rubbing alcohol notes. Medium body, lightly sweet, somewhat oily, but overall the smell and flavor are both absolutely terrible.
