Cherry tart with a tinge of vinegar in the aroma. Lightly tangy with balsamic notes and lemon. Had again at Rattle N Hum tonight, nice Flemish cherry character and a light oak accent. A fantastic brew for sure. hophead75 (1962), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

Quickly sweet of ripe cherry then explodes with tart brashness. Lemon rind finish, actually gets more sour with each sip. I love this beer! Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

Poured a medium to deeper reddish/brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of wood (the wood really came out as it warmed up), earthy, light funk, and cherries. Tastes of wood, cherries, some vanillla, and lightly vinous. This was fine, but I kept thinking I want my sours to be a little more ’sour and tart’. jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA

There is a smooth sour brown flavor that gives this beer a Belgian feel. This is a well-crafter brew that holds up to the better Belgian examples of the style. It’s Rodenbach on steroids. skippapotamus (29), USA

Poured opaque burgundy, in appropriate Ommegang Rouge glassware (nice touch). Aroma of cherry. Oak finish mellowing the sourness and slight apple-vinegar flavor, very acidic. Medium carbonation. Solid, clean finish. Good american rendition of flemish red that could’ve gone more sour to style but oak aging took some of the edge off. Not an everyday sipper but definitely a welcome style to add to a good line.
