Pours a very dark reddish brown with a small tan head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramelized malts and dark fruits. Slight hint of alcohol. Very smooth and sweet on the palate. The malts are front and center with hints of fruits. A like this very much and will buy again. Strong fruit aroma which was mostly cherry. Dark color of brownish orange. Beautiful tan colored head. Light glass cling. Slight fizz, great bitter character, and a dry finish. I mistakenly called it a Belgian ale before seeing it was made in Cooperstown, surprising. Delicious. A new favorite. Derek881 (502), Frederick, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Poured from a large bottlle into a trappist glass to enjoy. A rich floral hop aroma with alot of dense fruits, especially cherry; grassy hops and barley malt too. The beer had a good-sized, creamy dark tan head with average retention and cling. A slightly cloudy, brown-orange color. Great sweet fruity and cherry flavor, with some bitterness too and a touch of sour. A healthy amount of carbonation, with good fizz, and a lively, thinner feel. Slightly drier finish with a slight feel of alcohol. Definitely a really good beer, thoroughly enjoyed. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Great balance of fruit, malt, and hops with an awesome caramelized sugar flavor at the finish. Nice lacing in the glass. The flavor does not linger. A great beer and one of the best American brewed Quads I have tasted. MrManning (1659), London, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2008 Bottle shared with me by my friend Chris- A rusty auburn pour created a frothy beige cap with pretty lace. Nose of over ripe dark fruits, lots of caramel and Belgian candy sugar, floral notes, some perfume, molasses, and a hint of red cherry. Tastes of sweet candy, dark pit fruits, molasses, with added cherries and a good dose of balancing bittering hops. Finishes sweet, fruity, quite creamy and no trace of the high ABV. Nice brew. Thanks Chris. topherh (943), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2008 750ml bottle from 2007, drank in December of 2008. Very attractive, thick, reddish brown color. The aroma has turned a little off at this point. Ive only had it a handful of times in the past, but I believe it as a more noticeable cherry taste when fresh. Tastes like a less carbonated and alcoholic La Trappe Quad to me, which is a good thing, to capture some of the Quadrupel subtleties. This rating only reflects the aged version, Id assume the fresh one would score much higher.
