Jul 12, 2008 12 oz bottle. lots of foamy light-brown, though quickly dissipating. alcohol aroma, maybe some (dark) fruit mixed in as well. good amount of carbonation (leaves a foamy tingle on the upper-lip when consumed). Can’t really say what it tastes like; a mixture of dark fruits but is also tart, puckering the mouth in an odd fashion. Good beer, but not something I’d pay $4 for again. Not a personal favorite.

Jul 11, 2008 Updated: Aug 4, 2008Poors a dark brown with ruby edges. Reminds me of a root beer or something of that sort. Minimal head that doesn’t last long at all. Weakly carbonated and heavy bodied brew. Very rich caramel flavors along with some cherry fruitiness. Pretty filling in the mouth and also smooth and somewhat sticky. Creamy finish with noticeable alcohol--perhaps too much alcohol.

Jul 7, 2008 Updated: Jul 8, 2008Really good. Strong flavor, rich and sweet .Plenty of complex flavor and aromas This beer should be enjoyed and savoured I only wish I had the fireplace and red leather armchair it deserves.

Jul 7, 2008 Updated: Dec 30, 2008This rating is for the Cave Aged Quad. Im putting it here, since i cant find it. Pours a dark amber body with an off white head. Cherries, raisins, caramel, a note of wood and smoke, tobacco and a bit chewy. Etoh is in great balance. A solid offering i really enjoyed it.

Jul 5, 2008 2003 vintage in 2008. Poured a hazed amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of aged malt, caramel and sweet cherry. The flavor matched with the aroma with notes of caramel and cherry. Their was less age character in the flavor. Light tartness.

Jul 1, 2008 This beer pours with a nice thick head that sticks around for a while. This beer is a very dark amber, almost the appearance of a cognac. I prefer my Belgians sweet and this one is a little bitter for me. It is also a bit too carbonated and tangy for my personal taste. This is obviously a great beer, just not one of my personal favorites.

Jul 1, 2008 I have this beer in front of me. The immediate sensation of aroma was of kriek cherries, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if some were added to the fermentation. This is a deep and mature beer. One that is a pleasure to the senses. Murky to see through, but a persistent head and a mouthfilling flavour.
I wish I had more of this beer.

Jun 30, 2008 Pours a dark red with a 1" light brown head.
High alcohol aroma initially, but became more complex as it warmed in the glass.
Big cherry, malt, and a little smoky flavors were noticed. A great beer.
