Light malt and bread, with flower, dough, grape, and big cherry. Big pop when it opned. Very sweet. This beer was OK. I expected more of a quad taste, but it seemed a bit thin. Mostly just cherry. hoppopotamus (186), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2008 A clear ruby-mahogany beer with a small brownish head that doesn’t last. The aroma is some spice, dark fruit (cherries, obviously), and some alcohol. The flavor is more of the same, with perhaps more emphasis on the cherries and a little sweetness. Some malty roast notes as well. Not a bad beer. kiefdog (1631), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2008 75cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa). Pours a dark, brown-red with one finger white-tan head that recedes slowly and provides lacing on the glass. Smells sweet and malty with notes of coffee and caramel. Flavor is malt, chocolate, caramel, with a slight bitter finish. Cherry lambic comes through more strongly as the beer warms from serving temperature. fezzik20 (8), USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Thick, illustrious head, deep brown pour. Reminds me of the St. Bernardus Abt 12, but with a little more obvious cherry hint to it. Very complex...a lot happening. As one previous reviewer said, it hides the alcohol quite well. Very refreshing for a quad. Very nice mouthfeel. Purchased in New York City, enjoyed in Alabama. level4 (24), New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Pours a deep dark brown with small but lasting off-white head. I poured slowly so head could have been thicker. Aroma is nothing special but pleasant. Taste is complex and has a nice balance of minor cherry and maybe chocolate and plum. Many tastes going on here. It hides the alcohol fairly well. I’m more into lighter bodied styles but this is a nice quad. Picked up a grab bag of single bottles at Total Wine on Namans Rd in DE. Awesome one to start with. Rich flavor, beautiful to look at, hint of cherry. I’ll be buying another very soon. bluevegie (2215), Perth, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2008 Tried a sample at local homebrew club and again to make sure. 10% was noticeable but only just, cherrries was noticeable but not overly so, smooth rounded taste which was quite complex, malts were a treat, cherries to me were just an added extra. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Talk about a beer that packs a big buzz! 10% this beer set me off to a great night. Pours a cloudy reddish body with aromas of Caramel and oak. Cherries are evident, finishes with cherry flavor. Has a creamy mouthfeel that continues to carbonate in your mouth. and midpalate tastes like bread or biscuits or something similar.
