Apr 11, 2004 A hazy brown beer with a light brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of nuts, prunes, alcohol, and wood. The flavor is dry woody with notes of prunes and plums before a very hoppy and malt dry end sets in. A wonderful flavor.

Oct 22, 2004 Bottled. Muddy dark brown. Cherry liqueur aroma. Intensely roasty with lively mouthfeel. Notes of berries and coffee - this is chocolate covered strawberries with champagne! Oaky bière de garde-like lively finish. A complex and very interesting beer.

Jan 14, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours a slightly hazy, reddish amber with a creamy, off-white head. Fairly complex aroma of yeast, overripe fruit and diacetyl. Full-bodied with fruity notes, sherry-like and again some diacetyl. Almost no bitterness. Interesting. 080107

Jul 8, 2003 Updated: Dec 1, 2003White label 2003 edition. Bright golden brown; aroma of plum, candy and banana. Slightly astringent notes in the body. Chewy. Alcoholic. Slight yeast note, with a bitter ashy note in the finish. Alcohol is too dominant.
Original, burgundy label edition: Orangey-burgundy colour. Deep sense of plum, blood orange, deep caramel, stale wood, cherries. Some tartness comes into the mix mid-palate. Overall, though, it's quite sweet, slightly candyish even. Warming, slightly spicy finish.
