Commercial Description:
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

Poured from big botle. Just a hint of wheat in aroma. Light golden color, persistent white head. Wheat and some spice in the flavor. Nice feel , improves toward finish. Citrus notes as well. Nothing outstanding here, just a good wheat beer.

Decent witbiere. Has a startlingly clear appearance with slight white head. Bready, yeasty aroma. A very light fruitiness in the palate but mostly phenolic. Finishes slightly tart. Very carbonated.

This turned out to be a nice choice for the warm weather. Pours a hazy yellow color with a nice bright white head. The whole beer actually seemed a little bright looking. Mild banana aroma with hints of vanilla. Not a ton of flavor but very smooth and again, nice for the sun (which is out today). A little yeast, some lemon, banana and spices all blended in quite nicely. I’d get it again.

Pours cloudy orange with a bit of white head. Aroma is rather yeasty with plenty of esters. Flavor is mostly wheat with some orange citrus. I was disappointed because frankly I was expecting more spiciness where as this came across as mild.

Also, I used this in the baking of a loaf of bread. For you cooks out there I will also explain how this differed from the ’control’ recipe. I replaced half the water in the recipe with the Wiite. The resulting dough was thinner and required more flour to get to a kneedable state. Additionally, I noticed that the resulting dought was of much greater volume. I braided both sets of dough. The ’Witte Bread’ lost its braided shape in the oven. The resulting bread tasted better than the ’control’ bread, but nothing remarkably different. In general I blame my recipe and lack of major baking experience on the overall blandness of my final product.

Bottle. Pouse a slighlty hazy pale yellow with a large foamy white head. Very light beer on the palate, but not light on tast. Hints of lemon zest and spice flavor and aroma. A decent white.

A very good white ale, sweet and citrusy with a nice spice flavor. It’s light and smooth making it very refreshing.

Pours a hazy pale gold with a huge creamy white head that lasts, and develops some nice lacing ans it settles. Aromas of citrus, spice, and lightly roasted wheat. Spicier than the standard wit, but not overly spicy. Nice honey and citrus flavors. Refreshing and crisp. Not bad at all!

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Just about the same golden color as the label. Huge white head that leaves gobs of lacing. Smells citrusy with rindy lemon and orange. Lots of spice too. Flavor is heavily spiced as per the norm with Ommegang beers. Lots of coriander and some clove dance atop tart citrus. Refreshing mouthfeel and high drinkability.
