Commercial Description:
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

I am in full favor of the whole Belgian beer theme but his did not work for me. I really did not like the 750 mL version of the beer, how could the yeast influence the whole bottle? With the 12oz bottles the influence is a little more in effect but the yeast is the culpruit. Overall it does not work.

This pours a slightly hazy, pale yellow with a huge head that quickly fades to just a thin cap. The aroma is mainly of wheat, just a hint of spice lurking in the background. The flavor is wheat, spice, and lemon peel. Overall, not bad, and very drinkable.

hazy yellow body with small white head..aroma of citrus, wheat, yeast, and grass..flavor is very earthy, complemented by definite touches of lemon, wheat, bread, and yeast...pretty basic, yet very quaffable

Nice gold color with a big frothy head. Corriander nose with some lemon and other citrus aromas...flowers too. Flavor is similar with a great refreshing mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle in pint glass. Pours somewhat dark, cloudy orange with nice, lasting white head. Very faint aroma of orange honey. Somewhat inappropriate caramel flavor, very round sweetness, minimum spiciness. Somewhat disappointing since I love Hennepin and was looking forward to this, which I can’t get in my own area. Medium-light body. Pretty good soft mouthfeel. I think the problem is that this beer is not fresh. I’m all for aging dark strong Belgian beers, but this ain’t one. Re-rate. Got a fresh 750ml of this. An additional point for flavor and palate but still surprisingly unspectacular.

Robe blonde voilée surmontée d’une mousse blanche épaisse en dentelle qui persiste. Arômes de bananes. Saveurs de bananes, de citron et de blé.
