Commercial Description:
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

750 corked bottle. Pours a hazy gold. Aroma is not real powerful, but slight citrus notes. Flavor is not powerful either, coriander and orange in the background. Overall not a bad beer, but there are better Wit’s out there.

Corked bottle. Pours a beautiful, solid gold with a nice, frothy head and intricate lacing. A yeasty coriander aroma greets the nose, followed by a whiff of subtle orange. Faint sweet floral flavor with a nice finish of pear. Smooth and tingly on the palate; very playful beer in this regard. Fantastic beer for a warm day. Nice zesty feel to it that is not typical of whites that I can recall at this time. Different, but worth a try for sure.

Slightly cloudy golden color with a large fluffy white head. Aroma has lots of citrus with very subdued spicing. Citrus and wheat flavors with a light spice finish. Soft body. Not my favorite style, but this would be very refreshing on a hot summer day.

Pours very carbonated and clearer than some wih a creamy head. Very nice looking. Big wheat aroma , some sharp aromas like you get before eating a bitter fruit, and some lemon-lime almost froot loop notes. Soft palate but fluffy with perfect carbonation. Fairly bitter but overly so. Low spicing. Finishes light and clean. One of the better Wits I’ve had.

750mL. Pours a very cloudy straw colour with an eggshell white head. The aroma is of coriander, orange peel, wheat, and some other citrusy notes from the hops. The carbonation is effervescent and biting. There is a good balance of flavor here, combining bready malts, light citrus, yeast, and coriander/clove. On the plate it is very dry. There is nice bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall, it’s easyy-drinking, mild and dry. A pretty good wit.

Pours a very cloudy pale yellow to hazy gold. Looks very nice. Aroma of cloves, wheat, lemon (and other citrus, but mostly lemon), very dry and tingly to the nose. Almost german, but yeastier and more lemony. Citrus pang starts the flavor, followed by dry bready flavors, some dry spiciness, and I think I can taste cloves. Finishes light as expected, not too dry, and still tastes pretty good to me. I like that this Belgian wit isn’t too terribly fruity and is more about yeast, bread and natural (not nutmeg and crap like that) spiciness. Light body, but the carbonation was medium, which I like better than the highly carbonated witbiers. Good.

750mL bottle: I’m estimating this beer at 2 + years old by only the bottles outside condition. Stains and bunch of crap over the bottle and the label was faded and peeling. However, the white beer held up rather well with decent aroma of spice and yeast. Flavor is somewhat flat but still maintains undeniable yeast and light coriander. Mouthfeel is dirty and thats partially because of a lot of sediment floating around. I would love to find a fresh bottle of this Ommegang.

Body is a foogy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is lemon, grapefruit, nutmeg, pepper, with a littlebit of barnyard. Taste is lightly hoppy up front, with lemon zest, peppery, with wheat, faint yeast.
