Commercial Description:
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

An alright summer beer. It is very light and blan. I would rather be drinking orange juice.... or maybe even mix it with orange juice or a fruit lambic. Some try it and let me know....

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Pale yellow with a puffy white head. Very cloudy. Aroma is a nice amount of wheat mixed with some citrus and orange zest. Flavor is a little lighter than I would have expected. A bit spicy at the front, dry and grainy in the middle, and slightly spicy and zesty at the finish. Very clean.

aroma slightly muted with notes of spicyness and malt/wheat. Taste is light tangy citrus and spices with a clean finish.

This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy typically carbonated yellow colored body. The weak aroma was floral and malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow aftertaste. The weak flavor contained notes of bread dough malt mild hops fruity banana and pear. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Not much aroma. This is not a good beer. More like an American wheat than a Belgian witbier. Or maybe a bad German hefe. Not one I’d recommend from this brewery. Too thin and wheaty.

This is simple a good Witbier that is write on par with what I’d expected from the style and from Ommegang. It is loaded with orange peel, apple banana and coriander flavors in the smell and taste. It is refreshing light and crisp in the mouth. Certainly an easy drinking summer beer or a good compliment to seafood (as recommended by Tom Peter’s. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Very enjoyable, spicy but not overwhelmed by straightforward citrus. A bit bready but not heavy. Refreshing but not a lawnmower beer, something to relax with on a warm day.
