Commercial Description:
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

750 ml bottle, corked and caged. Pale yellow with a thick yeast haze and a huge pillowy head. Highly carbonated. Spicy corianderish nose, lemon, some light pleasant phenols with a bit of dustiness and light appley fruitiness. The yeast profile really reminds of Duvel... very light and fragrant. Light-bodied brew with the perfect balance of lemon zest citrus, tart citrusy middle and dry spicy finish. Wheaty flavour with some lingering spice and orangey flavour. Awesome brew.

From 750ml. caged cork brown bottle with a short blurb about the witbier on the right side of the front label and pouring instructions on the back label, served at cellar temperature. Off to a promising start, poured a cloudy orange hued pale straw yellow with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, moderate carbonation. For a witbier, rather bland nose, a dry yeastiness, faint aromas of sweet coriander, spices and tart orange, more rind-like than peel. A slick, crisp medium bodied mouth feel, average drinkability consistent with the style. Bland tasting overall, especially for a Ommegang product, a dry earthy yeastiness, the mellowest of coriander and spice flavors, mildly tart orange and a pale wheat maltiness and a watery, orangey finish with a little crispiness. This was a boring Witbier, disappointing considering the brewery. Normally I would recommend anything by Ommegang, but I’m afraid I can’t recommend this witbier to anyone.

This beer is very sour. Think of Hoegaarden and increase the the sourness by 20. I had the champagne bottle and the sourness hits your nose the second it is opened

One of the better witbiers I have had. Very lemony with a rich yet light wheatyness.

This is a fantastic beer, one of the upper tier beers from one of the upper tier breweries. Not much head, a great aroma...just flat out one of my favorite beers to drink.

12 oz bottle. Creamy yellow with a snow-white cap and raucous bubbles. Mild grassy nose. Light and lemony with some tang and a flowery finish. Less carb and thinner body than it would seem.

Corked and caged bottle. Poured a medium sized white fizzy head, sparse lacing, cloudy, carbonated, and a pale yellow hue. Nose was malty, sweet, orange, tad bit of banana, spicy, and citrus. Sweet, spicy, citrus, and orange flavor. Tingly palate. Medium body.

Perhaps I got an old bottle, but the one I had was terrible. The usual coriander/orange peel/spice was completely gone, so this beer tasted like stale american lager with a touch of sweetness, and perhaps some DMS.
