RomanW70 (284), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jun 8, 2008 Pours fairly clear gold with a big frothy head. Aroma primarilly of spice and wheat, with slight notes of citrus and funk. Spice dominates the flavor too, and it finishes clean, like a pislener. Very odd witte. No banana or funk notes in the taste. Tastes more liike Hefeweizen. Not a bad beer, just an odd one form a brewery that usually hits its style.
scrizzz (508), kirkland, Washington, USA Oct 12, 2008 Effervescent golden color, light whispy white head, not really sustained in the tumbler. Delicate banana aroma, soft tart wheat aroma as well. Lemon notes up front, full mouthfeel and flavor, yet remains light in body. Little clove in the finish. MatSciGuy (261), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a hazy straw gold with a large, fluffy of white head. Citrusy aroma with coriander. Mouthfeel is a bit watery. Crisp, citric hops, bready yeast. larsniclas (3034), Gothenburg, Sweden Oct 5, 2008 Bottled at Haket.
Hazy yellow with a medium, white head.
Frutiy in both aroma and flavour; apricots and some spicies.
Soft, smooth and fresh. afireinside96 (498), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 5, 2008 From a bottle at the KSBF ’08. Hazy pale gold with a bright white head. Spicy, phenolic, and yeasty. Pretty dry. A very nice Witbier. HomeBrewHawk (138), De Soto, Kansas, USA Oct 4, 2008 750ml corked and caged bottle. Bottle conditioned. served in a shaker pint. Opens with a big pop. First pour is a brilliantly clear pale straw, with a couple of fingers of big bubbled white head. Slightly spicy aroma with a bit of wheaty tang. Light bodied, easy drinking. Spritzy mouthfeel, lots of carbonation. Citrusy flavor with a subdued clove flavor. Not a bad summer beer, but I’ve had better wits.
