I heared so many bad reports over the years that I never tasted it. The last couple of years there were no sounds at about this brewery and beers what made me wonder whether they still exsisted. And yes the do! I finally came across a couple of bottles. The labels improved very much but the beer was also surprisingly good. It really made me feel like "this is how beer was brewed in the old days before commercialization". Like geuze! Aroma of flowers, lemon, quite hoppt and a little yeasty. Hazy, amber color, beige head, very nice lace. Sweet, citric sour, lemon, hopbitterness (quite hoppy), wood, malty, hay, sticky and a vinegar-like burning sensation. Reminded me a lot of a good saison. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands

(But not as carbonated as Belgian ales). Flavour is otherwise dominated by rather bitter hops (but not as bitter as the barman made me expect). The colour is light brown, slightly hazy. You'd think the ABV was higher than it actually is. It is not a bad brew, but I'd prefer most English ales / bitters to this one. Still it's nice to find Dutch alternatives to the inevitable macrobrews.
