Nice IIPA -- full bodied almost not an IIPA and more of a american strong ale as they call them here. Hoppy nose, but alcohol throughout. Nice

On tap @ brewpub. Good nose, sweet. Orange, little whiskey/scotchy, caramel. Clean brownish orange color little to no head, small ring, minor lacing. Bitter flavor, like aroma, grapefruit kicks in. Thick body, creamy, viscous mouthfeel, bitter finish witha ABV drying finish. Nice IIPA.

Poured a dark but clear amber color with no head (high ABV). Aroma was of a strong alcohol and somewhat sweet. Flavor was malty, darned grapefruit malty, and finished with a strong hoppy touch, mingled within the high ABV. Mouthfeel was a bit flat, but heavy. A great afterdinner treat. A bit heavy for pre-dining.

Thanks to hopdog for landing this growler for a tasting. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium off white foamy head that laced nicely. Aroma of pine, citrus, some caramel, grapefruit and light alcohol as it warmed. Flavor of pine, some sugary sweetness was also picking up more of the alcohol in the flavor as it warmed. A very solid DIPA though and really glad I got to try it.

Thanks to hopdog for this. We all loved it so much at the tasting that we went back for seconds! Appears a hazy amber brown with a 1 finger off white head that lasts. Nice lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of huge biscuity, malty dough. Lots of hoppy complexity going on with with pine resin and citrus. Taste is of the same aromas in a well done, sugary DIPA. Mouthfeel has beautiful amounts of carbonation with perfect sweet and bitter notes balancing it out.

Growler acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks Pete!). Poured a deep and lightly hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of pine, caramel, citrus, spicy, light alcohol, and had a very light doughiness to it. Tastes were brown sugary sweet, caramel, grapefruit and orange peel. Light alcohol in the finish (although no where near 14%). Light lacing left on the glass. Nicely balanced and a very enjoyable IIPA.

Clear amber, little to no head. Enormous sweaty orange nose unveils no fruitiness beside that dulled orange. It appears woody, but remains citrus dominated. Liquorous thinned out body, rather flat carboantion. That 13% alcohol certainly didnt implicate the best attenuation as this is a sweet bomb, harsh and unbalanced with all that astringent citric hoppiness setting your mouth in fire. In the vein of Founders Devil Dancer, so many would like it, but I don’t, it takes more than alcohol and a coolish GI-Joe warrior name.
