Really good fresh piney hops with a decent earthy malt base. Hints of peach and grapefruit. Big fruity finish with some slight peat. Nice enough beer but nothing outstaning. harrisoni (6828), Ashford, Kent, England

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Slightly hazy, copper body. Inviting aroma of late fruits. Sweet orange shells in flavour followed by very dry hopped bitterness to the ending. Fine drinkability, in spite of being a bit too dry. Gravicask served in a third pint glass at GBBF, 04.08.2009. Aroma is hops, wood, fruits, flowery hops as well as some fudge, earth and mild parfume. Flavour is much of the same in a pleasant balance. Very drinkable APA. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 8, 2009 Cask (gravity) at GBBF 2009, Day 1. Listed simply as Opa Opa Pale Ale but the ABV is the same as this one so I guess this is the right one. Dry-hopped with Centennial. Amber colour. Lovely pungent floral hops on the nose, no doubt accentuated by the dry-hopping. It does fall off a little on the palate as Silk suggests but my scoring starts from a higher baseline so I still found it very tasty, with plenty of aromatic hop character backed up with just enough pale malt to provide necessary balance. A particularly appealing and enjoyable beer. I particularly enjoyed Silk’s suggestion that Sim might want to use this as perfume.

A light amber to ginger coloured beer with a ring of off-white bubbles. The aroma is piney with a hint of sweet malt just as you’d expect from an APA. Nice clean hoppy flavours in the mouth. Pine and spruce and a bit of prickle.
