Commercial Description:
This creamy, impenetrable, full bodied ale gets some of its buried sweetness from the use of lactose (milk sugar). The chocolate and black malts creates its deep color and its balanced roasted coffee flavors.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at GBBF. Black brown with a thin tan film. Coffee, brown sugar, rather sweet, all the roasty and toasty notes you would expect. Bitter dark chocolate finish. Not bad.

This is a fantastic version of a stout. It is clear of the use of the lactose. There are fine notes of coffee and bitter chocolate on the palate and the finish. It drink smooth with some depth.

Denis let us sample this right off the tank, pre-carbonation. Boy would it make a good cask. lots of lactose. Chocolate malt and excellent bitterness.

Version âgée en baril de whisky. Robe noire surmontée d’une mousse brune épaisse. Arômes de whisky et de chocolat. Saveurs de chocolat, de malt caramel, de whisky et de vanille.

A nice stout, this one poured a dark brown-black with a decent initial head that dissipated after a few minutes, but laced quite well for the duration of the drink. A nice mild bitterness to the finish of a somewhat milky but mostly coffee and mildly chocoloate stout. Enjoyable, but not very distinguishable from many another stout.

Growler acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks!). Poured a dark, dark brown color, with red edges, and a smaller sized tan head. Aromas of roast, lactose, chocolate, and a little earthy. Tastes of roast, chocolate, light caramel, and a medium coffee bitter finish. The body was a little on the thin side.
