Commercial Description:
A blend of German vienna malt and English crystal malts create this malty and slightly fruity beer. Sweet caramel flavors give way to a surprisingly soft and smooth finish.

My Bottom Line:
Fruity toasted malts lend just enough flavor and body before they are balanced out by the clever wooden hop bitterness. This Amber Ale will not dazzle your tastebuds, but its furtive intricacies and high drinkability should keep you interested throughout your glass.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam floats atop the copper amber.
-Carbonation is soft and, combined with the able body, encourages sessioning.
-Earthiness emerges from the well-extracted maltiness.
-The overall recipe appears to be rather simple, but it is well rendered and professional.

On tap at the brewpub.

In a half-gallon growler. Nice sweet, malty nose. Refreshing mouthfeel, with a crisp sweet taste. Very good!

Bottle: Poured a nice rosy reddish amber with a thin head. Highly active. The aroma is inviting, if light, advertising a sweet caramel malt. This delivers as a quite enjoyable and exceptionally well balanced text book amber -- lightly caramelled with a hint of a fruity undertow, with just a tingle of a grassy hop essence in the finish. I would love one of these with a big juicy burger. (#3102, 9/23/2007)

Medium amber color with a head that doesn’t stick around very long. Sweet malty flavor, caramel and cotton candy flavors. Lightly bitter grassy mild finish with light carbonation. Very drinkable but unremarkable.

This is a nice, easy drinking amber. Aroma has the slightest hint of tobacco along with sweet malts. The flavor is malty and pleasant with light hops on the finish. Good looking beer.

The beer pours middle amber and offers notes citrus and hops. The mouthfeel has a malty, caramel, almost cotton candy note (on the back end). It finishes with a nice malt overtone.

Unfiltered unpausterized hand bottle courtesy of Dennis the second-in-command. Good foaming head, slight amber. Malty and not too bitter. Easy drinking, medium mouthfeel.
