Cask at GBBF08. Good dark malt aroma, sweet and bready. The flavour has the same maltiness, also dusty. Clear very dark brown colour. Very small tan head. Hint of vinousness in the aftertaste along with a decent hop bite.

Dark brown with tiny beige head. Swert aroma with roasted malt, coffee and chocolate notes. Flavor likewise with a sweet roasted finist.

Cask at GBBF 08. Deep ruby, thin beige head. Very very choccy, quite an intense porter. Just very very good and deserves better of my beer judgement than I am today. It’s excellent. Good fullness, reall intense choc, but very drinkable at the same time. Good stinging bitterness from the choc on end.

My Bottom Line:
Candied fruitiness and calculated earthy roastiness linger well into the finish in this clean and drinkable Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam stands atop the burgundy-laced black.
-The maltiness is well extracted, as in most Opa-Opa beers.
-Some coffee flavors add complexity to the roasted maltiness.
-The fruitiness recalls cherries at times.
-This is not a memorable Porter by any means, but it is quite efficient nonetheless.

On tap at the brewpub.
