Aug 21, 2008 Cask at GBBF 08. Deep ruby, thin beige head. Very very choccy, quite an intense porter. Just very very good and deserves better of my beer judgement than I am today. It’s excellent. Good fullness, reall intense choc, but very drinkable at the same time. Good stinging bitterness from the choc on end.

Aug 26, 2009 Growler from their brewery in Williamsburg, Massachusetts. It is a dark black color with reddish tinges under just the faintest trace of foam around the bare edge of the glass. Bringing the glass to my nose, I pick up some roasted nutty wafting around. The mouthfeel is full, teetering just on the edge of being considered "watery" but never actually crossing that boundary. A roasty sweetness swims into the flavor and leaves the faintest bit of chalky in the aftertaste. A very refreshing porter.

Sep 9, 2008 Cask at GBBF08. Good dark malt aroma, sweet and bready. The flavour has the same maltiness, also dusty. Clear very dark brown colour. Very small tan head. Hint of vinousness in the aftertaste along with a decent hop bite.

Nov 28, 2009 8th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Smooth and fruity. Some caramel. Aromatic. Not bitter but quite dry. Subtle coffee tones as well. Well balanced porter.

Aug 21, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008 (6.0%). Deep amber colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some wood and dark fruits. Flavour is much the same along with some cocoa and vanilla.

Jul 12, 2007 A really winner, at the brewpub. Black, good lace. Nice chocolate. Smooth and stoutish. good balance, and a bit more bitter than sweet.
