Hard to place aroma - closest I get is artificial orange flavor - kind of like those orange candy slice things. Sticky flavor with some of the same artificial orange flavor. Some honey in there as well. Not as cloying as I expected it to be. Finished with some maple syrup sweetness and caramel. Thickish mouthfeel and it improves as it warms. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours clear copper with faint yet regenerative white ring of foam. It has a huge beastly aroma that I can clearly smell and review from a foot away from the glass. It has bold honey notes and dark fruity esters as the main notes. The taste is thick and bold with lots of honey, Belgian candi sugar, prunes and figs. This is some tasty stuff. Ends with mild honey and some mild sweet maltiness to round things out. joekfsu (138), Boardman, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a burnt orange with 2 cm foamy off white head that thins out pretty quickly. Aroma of honey and alcohol. Initial flavor of sugar/honey. Flavor balances out slightly by the end, thankfully. Aftertaste is still kinda sugary, but short lived. Medium body, moderate lacing, light carbonation, and obvious alcohol. Overall, worth a try, and as long as its even a little chilled you can get just about anyone to try it. sebletitje (1925), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Pours copper with thick white head.
Aroma is very matly, fruity / floral and sweet honey.
Taste is again very sweet, honey all over, fruity and sugary wtith orange.
There is an obvious use of a lot of malt, making this beer close to a malt beverage. Alcohol quickly coats the palate and the throat, remains very sugary all the way.
Not a bad beer, remains high in abv, with a lot of sugar and malts. BorksBabe (81), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2008 This one is MUCH better than original OBP. You can really tell that they used half the water- the flavors are very strong! Scent is the same- oranges, some malt, very sweet. The flavor has orange blossom honey, molasses, perhaps some malt and a little rosemary perhaps? It’s good... overall a very nice "girly" beer. KimJohansen (7125), Copenhagen V, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Cloudy golden with tiny white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel notes. Sweet fruity flavor with caramel, honey and floral notes. Ends sweet. Palidor19 (1783), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2008 Awesome, its strong and flavorful, the alcohol is well hidden. The malts are nice ad rich, not too much on the hops but the mild honey flavor give this a special drink. nick76 (2672), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 13, 2008 The aroma is malty with yeast, honey, and a hint of fruity citrus. The appearance is orange gold with large head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall I like this one a lot.
