Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2008 Bottled. A murky dark brown beer with a rim of brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of alcohol, medium notes of caramel, and a light touch of bread. The flavor is very sweet with a strong note of alcohol, leading to a slightly bitter finish. Too alcoholic for my liking, it must be possible to hide the alcohol better. I wonder what herbs was used - I didn’t pick up any traces of them. Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of BelJohansen. Pours a clear reddish colour with a frothy beige head, Malty aroma - perhaps with a dash of spices - ginger? Solid body with burned caramel accents, roasted malts, fruit and spices. The finish is dry but not very bitter. A pleasant one. 290508 yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 3, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense tan head. Light spiced aroma. Sweet fruity and light spiced flavour. Smooth alcohol feel and flavour into the finish. Light spiced flavour into the far finish. Somewhat too sweet for my liking, yet it is wellbrewed and wellcomposed - good start. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 3, 2008 Bottle.
