harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 9, 2006 This is exactly how the description says it. Toasty and oaky, lots of wood notes, almost like a foreign stout would be. Dry and roasted, with some big vanilla flavors, smokiness and some pleasant hop bite in the finish. QuoVadis (6), Lebanon, Oregon, USA does not count Nov 24, 2005 dark brown body, low, lite brown head, some lacing
deep chocolate, toasty, oak smoke
strong hop, lingering, pleasant after-taste
one of my favorite stouts
beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Feb 13, 2005 Sampled at the KLCC brewfest 2005. This big dark stout gives off a massive toasty oak sweet aroma. Chocolate and licorice are found in the aroma and flavor. Very smooth and rich brew that really benefits from a nice oaky finish. Very dry and earthy taste to it. frylock (1000), Buffalo, New York, USA Feb 12, 2005 Deep ruby brown color with a thin tan head. Roast, chocolate and some oak in the aroma. Roasted barley, light malt sweetness. Finishes dry and oaky. Interesting stout. xsketchyx (184), Oregon, USA Mar 25, 2004 Decent but not incredible, smokey but on the thin side. Doesn't quite pass the light test. Mistakenly submitted this as an Abbey Dubbel somehow, whoops.
