Commercial Description:
Oregon Trail Bourbon Porter is a beer as big as the West. Masterfully brewed in the true pioneer spirit. This robust porter is aged in Kentucky oak bourbon barrels. The result is a deep mahogany elixir, rich with oaky smoothness, bold bourbonesque aroma, with hints of fruit and vanilla. Good at either end of the trail.

Bottle: Medium depth brown with a modest tan head. Aroma is up front with bourbon and backed by roasty malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet with bourbon, chocolate, roast, and little hints of vanilla. Very smooth and well balanced. Just a bit thin on the palate.

Thanks to Brewfiend for sharing. Pours a nice deep dark black with a nice tan head. Super sweet bourbon and chocolate on the nose with some raisen and ripe fruit. Dense chocolate and ripe fruits as with a light floral hoppiness. Nice but I am pretty sick of bourbon beers.

10.2 ABV, No 4.. Deep brown pour with thin tan head.Acoholic aroma with roasted malt and dark fruit. Tastes of roasted malt, bourbon and chocolate with vanilla and a little licorice. Nice hops in the finish. Delicious, with good carbonation and weighty mouthfeel. Slow drinker.

(BATCH 01)first off i gotta say it was damn near impossible to get the plastic cover around the top off.(USE WAX GUYS!)but aftergetting it open i dumped a small sample into my snifter glass.i held the glass up to the light and saw a black body with nice deep red highlights.the head was a creamy "root beer" style head that left nice lacing as it settled.the aroma was full of vanilla, oak, and bourbon.the flavor had much of the same with a bit of chocolate and a milky finish.the mouthfeel was on the medium side and the alcohol was a little upfront.

Thisted tasting. Courtesy of After4eveer, thanks Tom. It is black with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of bourbon, wood, roasted malt, light ashes and dark fruits. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of caramel, vanilla, bourbon, spicy alcohol, chocolate and wood. The bourbon is just right for me, a nice one indeed.

Courtesy Beerlando. Version #4. Dark chestnut brown pour, thin tan head. Aromas of vanilla, burnt oak and bourbon, no real overt booziness. Extremely smooth taste considering the aroma, light vanilla and roast, some light tannic notes. A nice balanced bourbon-aged brew.

Bottle thanks to puddintane for sharing: Dark brown with a small white head. Aroma, oak and bourbon, some chocolate and coffee. Flavor, chocolate, some oak, caramel, coffee, and some bourbon. You won’t forget that the bourbon/oak is there, but it isn’t overwhelming. Solid brew.
