duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 4, 2004 Tap@Oregon Trail. Tasted a bit stale to me. Tangy bitter US hops, decent i suppose, but it did taste a bit old. Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Jul 20, 2000 BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 9, 2005 Sampled draught at Old World Deli/Oregon Trail Brewing, Corvallis Auburn color, nice head & lacing. Nose of floral citrus tones, creamy but resinously bitter. The flavor is bitter & dry, fairly average IPA for the region which means it’s above par as IPAs come, meh. acrdz (4364), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 30, 2005 Draft at the brewery. What I would called an American-British hybrid IPA with a homebrew flavor. Nutty and malty while still a little overhopped - and the hops are more of a bread crust and viney husk flavor than a sweeter citrus flavor. Full to medium bodied with a slightly rough texture - and like I said, a bit of a homebrew funk. They use the same yeast in every brew, so perhaps some experimentation with other strains for the IPA would resolve the problems... although to be honest the problems are very small... this was overall a very tasty IPA. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Sep 7, 2004 on tap at oregon trail. quite subued and earthy. pine aroma, not much sweetness then a fair amount of bitterness, slight compost tartness
