muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA May 30, 2003 You would think with all the nice-looking ethnic and "American" restaurants in this town I wouldn't have wanted to tempt fate and try to go 3 for 4 on brewpubs, especially after hitting a solid triple with Southampton. But no, I had to try this loser. Pils, strike one; Pale, strike two, B&T: thinnish dark cola appearance, foul ball. Strike one. Hints of roastiness in the nose, bit of wood. Strike two. Palate is ok, with some nice bitterness at the end giving some juicy fruity finishing character, good body. Ball one. Flavor is mostly porter-ish, but weak in that department. Strike three, out three; except I've still got two more to try. Damn this is torture. Vac (2253), San Diego, California, USA Oct 31, 2002 Dark brown with red undertones, a medium thick head and pretty good lace. the aroma and flavor are both sweet and malty with a hoppy background and the finish is dry and hoppy.
