Commercial Description:
Original Sin was born out of the NYC experience. The founders, all NYC'ers, came to see the need for a superior cider, a cider that was clean and complex with a noticeable bite. The quest to creat the perfect recipe encompassed both day and night. Day was spent in upstate in a winery, tasting, testing and mixing. Nights were spent in NYC bars, getting feedback from bar owners and patrons. The result, Original Sin Hard Cider was released to immediate acclaim from sources as diverse as the The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and Market Watch.

Bottle. Wow is this light, looks like white grape juice. Lots of bubblegum, some apple, very soft bodied even though it looks like it would have prickly carbonation. Not that bad but there are far better ciders out there.

Very thin and exceedingly pale pour, with virtually no carbonation. The nose is light and appley with a faint whiff of alcohol. Flavor is light green apples, fairly refreshing and tart and a touch of booze. Not cloyingly sweet, but one is certainly enough to datisfy even a rampant sweet tooth. Just OK.

On tap at Charleston’s (New Lenox, IL). An interesting choice that my girlfriend decided to go with and I decided to mooch off. Poured a sickly champagnesque light hue, almost watery, with some carbonation liveliness and a small head that dissipates. Aromas are largely muted, some apple must and a small sweetness. Initial is dry and crisp, lacking the cloying sweetness I expected. Finishes with some sweet notes, but overall, fairly enjoyable. Wins points because of my love of dry champagnes over any type of sweet sticky mess. Still, underwhelming, but a fun try.

bottle - Pours very pale yellow. It has a mild aroma of green apples. The flavor is light apple that’s a touch tart. Really everything about this one is light. It’s not bad, but just doesn’t have much going for it either.

There isn’t much to this cider at all.... aroma is slightly alcoholic.. but not much else. Appearance: urific. Meaning: looks like urine. Flight flavor of apples but not too exciting. Smooth to the palate. Overall... meh.

Short stubby bottle with a twist off cap. Nearly as clear as water but it does have a very slight yellow hue to it. Mild apples in the aroma. Not too sweet nor tart on the taste buds. Easy going and it leaves a slightly dull aftertaste on the back of the palate. At times it seems to almost have a vinous character about it. Not bad, could easily drink a few of these. 6% is not that prevalent in this drink, hides it rather well.
