Commercial Description:
"The nose on this beer is ripe and fruity with slightly vinous esters, married to interesting hop notes - the colour of a glorious red ruby wine."

Black/dark brown. Thick, creamy, light tan head. Roasted malt and chocoffee aroma similar to a porter. Interesting. Burnt coffee, roasted malt, bitter chocolate, touch of licorice, tastes like a porter. Medium body, a bit sweet, well carbonated. Pretty good, evidence that a beer does not need high abv to have some depth.

Dark clear brown pour, with a ruby-glinted pour. Topped with a quickly fading bubbly tan head. Earthy and grassy strong oats and wheat aroma, very grainy and malty. Coarse, yet enticing. Some chocolate aroma. Watery and crisp, with a smooth oaty and earthy. Lots of horseblanket and sheep barn. A tinge of chocolate, no alcohol burn. Very drinkable. Much like a beefed up Mild Ale to me.

Biscuity, toasty, lightly spiced (cinnamon), raisins, bittersweet chocolate in the aroma. Clear, dark ruby brown with decent, fine-bubbled, tan head that recedes to a lasting cover with some lacing. Biscuity, toasty malts with some chocolate and moderate roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium-light body is quite dry with crisp, lightly prickly carbonation. Shaker glass, allowed to warm from fridge temp. Bottle (Bello Vino, Jul-05).

Pours beautifully dark, tastes a bit too smooth if anything. The smoky flavor of heath and hops slide across the palate, giving you little to fight with. Not a bad beer, but priced like a great beer.

Poured the color of rootbeer with a 1 finger head. Faint aroma of malt and pete. Taste is nothing special. Watery, mild malt. This shit is over rated and over priced.

Pour is a nice dark brown, almost black, only a thin line of foam around the side of the glass. The aroma is like whiskey, full of smoked pete and charcoal. Flavor is well defined due to the lack of carbonation or severe bitterness. The flavor has a nice blend of earthy warmth and slight bit of dark fruit to match.

A great morning drink for watching the football/soccer match when stout is just too much of a meal. Great caramel taste, fizzy on the lips and oily in the back of the throat. It’s reminiscent of a standard brown ale but with much more caramel and fizz. Nicely complex.

Clear, but dark rusty-brown body with a soft, velvety beige head. Aroma of warm toffee with a nice impression of peat, cigars, and chocolate. Malty aroma takes on greater depth as it warms. Flavor is of a smoky Scottish ale with a nice chocolate note. Medium sweet finish with lingering smoky phenols. Great aftertaste. Relatively light-bodied and very drinkable. This is a nice malty session beer with abundant flavor.
