Bottled at RBESG 2007. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with strong notes of whiskey and wood. The flavor is sweet with a powerful note of whiskey as well as brettanomyces which lends it an acidity, but also medium notes of alcohol, prunes, and wood, as well as hints of salt.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy mahogany with a vague, reddish glow and a tiny, beige head. Very beautiful and complex aroma with lots of dried fruit. Flat appearance but yet very full-bodied with loads of roasted malt and dried fruit - port-like. Discreet hoppiness. Wauw for an excellent and complex brew. 281006

75 cL bottle, thanks to Myrup. Pours dark brown to black with a lacing tan head. Vanilla, liqourice and roasted malt. Flavour is roasted malt, tar like and woody with a little sweetness and a solid liqourice note. Lingering liqourice and light vanilla finish.

Bottled at RBESG ’07. Near black. Woody nose with some vinegar. Oily yet fairly slim. Sweet malt tartened by malt vinegarVinous with notes of molasses. Salty finish. Complex, or even complicated. Yet immature - already highly interesting and tasty.

Bottle. Dark brown / black color with virtually none head. Nice nose, clear more warmer and mature then the regular Dark Island, the whisky shows very soft and mixes perfectly with the malty aromas. Long warm finish with lots of power, fruity pleasant aromas of berries, dried figs and prunes. Little carbonation, slightly bitter and a bit thin in texture. I must say as "henrikb" it is a very good idea to age the Dark Island in Whisky barrels, the beer has really gained from it.

Bottle at Horsens BF 06. 9.5%. Sweet port aroma in the good way. Black colour, very small light brown head. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavour is very port-like with a little grape sourness and some roast barley bitterness.

Bottled (thanks cgarvieuk!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is madeirawine, some grapes, alcohol and quite sourish. Flavour is smoked oak, alcohol, raisins, some sourness as well. Oily palate. Feels a bit infected, yet in a quite nice way.
