Bottle pours an opaque black with a thick dark tan head that lingers like a frothy cappuccino. Aroma of bitter chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, and dried fruit. Bitter flavor that includes a nice mix of chocolate, coffee, and smokiness. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel.

From bottle. Aroma of sweet berries, part liquorice and smoked oak. Black colour with a decent off white head. good texture, smoked hops and chocolate malt. A little more strength would have been great.

Pours pitch black with a mostly receding brown head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, smokey roast, and peat. Tastes of chocolate roast, licorice, peat, and a bit of smoke. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lush carbonation. Very nice stout, I love the darker beers from England and Scotland, makes me want to visit.

Nice tasty stout. Slight head. Roasted chocolate and smokiness on the nose. Great creamy mouthfeel with relaxed malty flavors. Assertive hoppiness kicks in and then vanishes leaving a nice warm finish.

Pours pitch black. Tan head. A big head at that. Nose is really nice chocolate tones. Smooth and consistent. Really good fragrance. Flavor is more bitter, but consistent. The chocolate may be on the nose, but it certainly isn’t on the flavor profile. The bitter smoothes out over time. Feel is nice and thick on the liquid. Good carbonation too. Drinkable, yes. Well made, just doesn’t have any crazy flavor characteristics, but who needs it.

Pours an ebony color, ith glints of a burnt brown peeking in around the edges. Aroma is roasted, with the typical and called for coffee and cocoa notes. Some dark fruits do seem to try and come through as well. The flavor is a bit odd, touch of acidity, and tons of coffee, but there is an odd component, herbal perhaps, that is a bit out of sorts. Not bad.

500 ml bottle, via SoLan/TheCheeseMan. Pours a flat black body with some brownish edges under a small fizzy brown head that settled to a thin creamy covering. The nose on this is just great, heavy roast and smoke with some lighter bitter chocolate and coffee. Just a hint of hoppiness. The flavor is slightly lactic with heavy roasted barley and dark brewed coffee up front. Finishes with a slight hoppy kick that doesn’t really meld too well with the roast to me. Mouthfeel is slightly oily with a slight stickiness on the finish. Slightly fizzy carbonation with a little too much pricklyness for me. Overall, I liked this for the most part. If the hops were a little more toned down on the finish and featured the roastiness more it would have been even better. It does get some points for uniqueness though.
