Sep 26, 2009 Bottle. A gorgeous looking black beer with a dense. finger-thick, tan head. Peat, licorice, sea, some dried fruits, beefstock, tar and burnt malts in the aroma, quite complex, but sort of too much on the burnt side. The flavor is much the same, but troubled with some vegetal notes. Medium body, rather dry, and a roasted bitterness in the finish. I’m not certain if I like the flavor of this one, but the aroma is rather fancy. 090724

Sep 24, 2009 Pours black with tan head.Roast ,wood and some banana in the aroma.Kinda milky and sour with some roast and banana.Nice smokiness.Medium to thin body.Ok ,nothing more.

Aug 30, 2009 500ml bottle. Rich and dark, tar coloured with a thick creamy tan head and bitter chocolate and coffee notes with a hint of burnt toffee. Burnt flavour with a hint of nuttiness. Smooth and velvety in he mouth.

Aug 27, 2009 Dark-roasted malt aroma. Black with off-white large head. Flavour is malt, vinegar, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Thin body. Finishes plastic. A disappointment.

Aug 13, 2009 500 ml bottle from Jonathan Ron. Pours a very bubbly bodied solid black with a large soapy beige head. The initial aroma was very nice, dark chocolate, vanilla exract, slight coffee. However just moments later that nice aroma changes too a very grassy, rotting flowers, plastic scent, ugh where did that nice initial aroma go?? The body on this one is very thin with super bubbly lively carbonatin, sort of lke seltzer. Flavor has some decent burnt and roasted malts with chocolate notes and grassy hops. All in all this beer was a let down.

Jul 7, 2009 Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. Chocolatey aroma with dark fruit and apple notes. More chocolate and apple in the flavor with a smoky and dry finish.

Jul 6, 2009 Black body with a good size, lasting, tan head. Coffee and roasted notes on the aroma. Similar in the taste, light enough in body and alcohol to drink plenty of these.
