NotWthoutStout (30), Wharton, New Jersey, USA Feb 28, 2006 Thin and watery, Not much in the way of flavor, very flat and without contrast. Not even bold in it’s one dimension... This may be a black beer but I’m not sure I would even call this a stout. Very unimpressive. SSSteve (2045), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 27, 2006 caramel malt aroma. almost black with a tan head. dry and bitter. i also taste smoked peat and hazelnuts. no hops detected. very dry. weepingsuds (222), Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA Feb 24, 2006 Decent black stout. Not overly thick or in your face but balanced with a bit of chocolate and coffee. This is a stout for your nonbeer buddy. Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA Feb 23, 2006 Nice color, no light shone through. Light coffee notes and a sharp roasted bitterness. Very Irish for a Scottish beer. THere is smoothness that hints at sweet oatmeal and chocolate. NIce with fish and chips. OldRaspy (292), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jan 31, 2006 Poured a very dark brown, you could still see light through it. A thick brown head. Aroma was roasted malt with some coffee notes. Flavor was of roasted malts and a touch of coffee. This one was a bit watery as a stout for me. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 6, 2006 The aroma is chocolate, coffee, caramel, and very well toasted malt. The appearance is black with a medium head. The flavor is like toasted bread and chocolate. You can also describe this stout as sweet, bitter, and just a little salty. The palate is just about right but the aftertaste is somewhat acidic. Overall it’s not great but it’s pretty good. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Dec 31, 2005 Bottle. Black pour. Very clear and opaque. Malty taste but a bit watery. Almost a creamy texture. Very smooth finish. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Dec 30, 2005 (Big thanks to Papsoe.) 50 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Black colour with a nice creamy head. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Mild but great flavour with a lot of roasted taste, ends up a little bitter, but nice.
