| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 21, 2005 The Lure: Anise and vanilla sweetness surface atop the chocolatey malts. Somewhat vinous after a while, this is nonetheless a pretty attractive and intriguing perfume.
The Festivities: Roasted malts and dark chocolate relinquish their seductive powers to the overbearing mineral dryness. Chalk is brought up, sadly helped by the agressive carbonation. Some fruitiness manages to get through, but the dry metal sheets squash all hopes for tasty nourishment.
Transcendence: Zealousness breeds contempt. Nekronos (2263), Xalapa, Mexico

This was a very good stout, although a little soft sometimes. Smoked, chocolate features on it. Good head, but tiring after a while. SB (317), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Dark stout, hoppy aroma, Flavor was of burnt coffee, not overpowering, and a hint of chocolate. Very watery for a stout. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2005 Looks wicked in the glass. A full rich muddy head that lingers. Little bits of lumpy lace. Deepest opaque brown. Trace of anise in the nose, giving way to roasted malt. Aroma is late, but big on roasted cocoa beans. Vanilla. Misses a bit on the finish, but not too much. Quaffable, and not over the top like many US stouts. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 30, 2005 This is a good one to drink if you love Stouts. A very good example of the style, bursting with malt flavor, very dark in color with a thick, full body. SoLan (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Black. Big, dense, bubbly, creamy light brown head. Roasted malt and burnt chocoffee aroma- touch of lactose, also. Same flavor, bitter finish and aftertaste. Smooth, medium body is very drinkable. Would go nice with some waffles at breakfast. Good brew. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Black with no head and very little carbonation. On the thin side for a stout and a little oily. Coffee and chocolate in the flavor with very light bitter hops. A good British style stout; decent flavor without a huge palate makes it drinkable. Bockyhorsey (2511), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2005 Bottle. A thin well balanced stout. Aromas of roasted malts and cherry wood. Black body tan head. Flavor was a weak roasted malts and little watery. Smooth easy drinkable beer. I would have to think the cask would be a great stout see the componants for a good stout are there.
