| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Pours very dark brown with a dark tan / orange head. The aroma has roasted malt, cream, vanilla and a mix of milk and dark chocolate. Medium thick body with a bit of creaminess at first and then it gets overly thin on the finish with very light carbonation. The flavor starts with charred malt, bitter dark chocolate and a slight bit of citrus. The finish is a bit astringent. Overall it is a respectable stout. Ibrew2or3 (2724), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2008 0.5L bottle poured deep dark brown with mocha head. The aroma is a mix of gingerbread, fruit cake, molasses, rum cake and caramel. Smells nice but not what I was expecting. The taste begins with roasty burnt malts. I then get vanilla, burnt molasses and faint dark fruity esters. It ends roasty and toasty leaving burnt malts, chocolate malts and a dash of coffee grounds lingering into the after taste. Tastes a bit different than it smells. Bragesnak (2257), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2008 Poured black, tan head. Quite a bit of maltyness, some nice roasted notes. There wasn’t a large pallet with this one, but the earthy roast coffee is adequate. Clean finish and very drinkable. I thought this was pretty standard. The unusually low abv doesn’t mean it can not be good. I don’t know if some reviewers here were expecting an Imperial, it is not as bad as some on here say. There is someone who thinks that a tan head on a dark beer is bad? huh? Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2008 Bottle. Black pour with a big brown head. Has a nice roasted aroma with a hint of some spice. Roasted flavor becomes burnt, like charred wood, in the bitter finish. If you like your stouts with a burnt flavor (like i do) then this is a good one.
