Smells nice. It pours dark brown to blacka nd holds a fairly lasting craggy mocha head. Very thin bodied fore, but nice toasted flavors of malt, coffee and chocolate. Hints at molasses and black licorice without ever really going there all the way. The finish is watery and the flavor really drops out. This could be good, but as it stands it nearly has the body of a porter and doesn’t really satisfy my stout tooth. OleR (2106), Oslo, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2009 500 ml bottle from Meny Liertoppen. Near black colored body. Dense, mostly lasting tanned head. Initial aroma of plums and ripe apples, followed by a pleasant scent of cocoa and mild coffee. Taste is toasted dark malts, a distinct plummy fruitiness and milk-chocolate. Mild earthy bitterness and a salty note. Good body. Feels soft and smooth in the mouth. Dry, slight bitter coffee-ish ending. A really nice one SSSteve (2096), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Pours very dark brown with a dark tan / orange head. The aroma has roasted malt, cream, vanilla and a mix of milk and dark chocolate. Medium thick body with a bit of creaminess at first and then it gets overly thin on the finish with very light carbonation. The flavor starts with charred malt, bitter dark chocolate and a slight bit of citrus. The finish is a bit astringent. Overall it is a respectable stout. SHIG (2038), Aviano, Italy

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours opaque blackish brown with a lacy tan head. Soft aroma of chocolate, with a dash of coffee, nuts and pine. Body and carbonation on the light side of medium. The taste is lightly sweet, and a lot roastier than the aroma. Lots of coffee, a little smoke. Dry espresso finish with only a vague hop participation. FROTHINGSLOSH (2036), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Updated: Aug 27, 2007Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a very large dark brown head. The aroma was strongly malty, toasty and roasty with a nice floral hop element. The mouthfeel was a bit thin. The flavor was bitter and roasty, with a lightly smoky undertone and a floral hop element. The finish was bitter and a bit smoky. Not my style of stout.
