Pour is a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is very smoky and roasted malt. Flavor is smoked meat with some coffee and molasses. For only being 4% this is quite a flavorful beer.

500 ml. Opaque black with a medium-sized head that lasts. Aroma is espresso, char, and spicy dark chocolate. Flavors of spicy smoke and charred wood dominate initially, but some dark chocolate and coffee come through later. Palate is nearly medium bodied, watery, and airy-frothy on the finish.

Nice thick rootbeer float head (big creamy bubbles) which leads to some great lacing. Aroma of cocco puffs (in milk), dark roasted grains and a hint of coffee. Color is essentially black. Flavor is not quite as thick as I expected. Slightly chalky and thinner that expected. Good roasted flavor, almost burnt at times like a crispy burnt steak that when you eat it dissintegrates into little carbon pieces (gritty). Good flavor though. Finish has a distinctive coffee flavor and leaves a chalky film in the mouth. Little bit of bitterness from the hops also. I keep going back to the chalky/gritty sensation but the beer is still decent beyond that.

Jet black body with ample tan head. Coffee and chocolate in the nose. Some smoke detected. Mouthfeel was a wee thin for a stout. Flavor was chocolare and coffee and a touch of smoke. Decent.

(Bottle) Black colour. Nice head. Roasty, slightly smoked aroma. Roasty coffee-flavour. A nice easy-drinking session-stout.

Pours jet black into an English pint. Tan head recedes to skim surface. Milk chocolate and smoke aromas. Oily and slightly thin with upfront espresso and a lasting sour, roasted chocolate finish. Lots of flavor for 4%.

A bit thin, mild taste of coffee and toasty malts. Watery yet a little oily in its texture
