Wonderful aroma that is dry but hints at cherries and bourbon barrels. Some coffee and chocolate. Nice head, but it dies quickly. Medium bodied with a very sharp bitterness. Tastes like wood. This would be better if the aroma gave way to a similar taste. Enjoyable beer, kind of odd stout.

Poured an incredibly dark brown / black with a nice head that dissapated somewhat quickly. Tastes of smokiness and malts with a hint of coffee tones. My overall feeling is that this brew was too thin, almost watered down. It got my hopes up at first, but the taste never really delivered.

from the bottle. not too impressive, weak on the flavor, watered down tasting. not enough bite for me. reminds me of a weak guinness x-stout.

Dark black with a thin tan foam. Huge aroma of berries, roast, ashy, some light chocolate, coffee. Taste is soapy, fruity, berries, odd almost vinegar taste accompanies a dry ashiness. Unpleasant.

Pours with a five-finger plus (pour very slowly) light brown head that is thick and frothy leaving a ton of lace. Totally black color. Light carbonation and light-medium bodied. Nose is roasted coffee. Starts with a strong roasted coffee flavor and finishes slightly bitter. $3.49 for a 500ml bottle, Liquor Barn Lexington, KY.

Large light brown head initially, then settles into a thin covering, lace is thin but coating. Nose is fruity up front followed by a light roast aroma and maybe a touch vinous. Body is medium, a hint chalky but with a silky mouthfeel, nice. Flavors of chocolate, light roast, cocoa and some earthy dirty notes as well. Finish is fairly dry, roasty and bittersweet. A decent little quaff.

(Bottle BB nov. 05, thanks to Porter-Otto and Åsa) Pours dark brown with red hints and a light brown head. The aroma is of chocolate/cocoa roast, light burned coffee, nuts, mild fruits, tiny caramel and vanilla. The flavour is cocoa/coffee roasted. Rather dry, dusty and ashy. Light to medium acidic. Watery and soft with a light carbonation. Light bodied.
