Bottle poured black with a light head and very little lacing. Aroma is roast with a hint of cherries. Body is a bit watery with a roast and chocolate flavor and a metalic flavor on the finish.

Wow — a 4% stout. A session stout. Surprisingly dark and opaque for a session beer ... or surprisingly thin for a stout. Surprisingly complex for a session beer, with bitter coffee and malt and maybe, just maybe a bit of smoke, or surprisingly simple for a stout. Don’t love it ... not enough there to love ... but a very, very good easy drinking session beer.

Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a dark brown with a medium tan head. Chocolatey aroma with dark fruit and apple notes. More chocolate and apple in the flavor with a smoky and dry finish.

Way too similar to Dark Island, in my opinion. dark brownish-black pour with a thick tan head. Same smokey peat notes, same malt over hops dryness. Roasted malt. I dunno. Was not a big fan.

Bottle: Black in the glass with a fuzzy, soda like, light brown head. The head lasted and produced good lacing. Malty stout aroma. Milk chocolate and coffee flavor almost like a mocha or coffee ice cream. Some hoppy background and a smoky after taste. Light to medium body. Thought it would be fuller. Pretty good anyway.

Black, nearly opaque with a medium tan thin head. Big chocolate aroma which is deceiving. Surprisingly thin taste not much chocolate or roasted malt flavor. Bitter.

Bottle. Black with beige head. Roasted, cappucino, liqourice, metallic, bitter-dry. Ok from a bottle - could imagine it being great from cask...
