Jun 26, 2005 thick rich beer. fairly smooth drink for being so dark. taste of roasted expresso beans with a similiar aroma.

Apr 8, 2003 black color, foamy brown head. big coffee mocha aroma but the taste falls short. hada touch of a burnt flavor. taste did develop character as beer warmed. palate is very light for a stout.

Feb 4, 2008 Nice tasty stout. Slight head. Roasted chocolate and smokiness on the nose. Great creamy mouthfeel with relaxed malty flavors. Assertive hoppiness kicks in and then vanishes leaving a nice warm finish.

Oct 1, 2004 Bottle pours black with a nice tan head and some lace. The aroma is roasty and chocolate. The flavor is lactic, roasted, chocolate, and has a fairly rich palate but at the same time quite seemingly artificially carbonated. Ya know, overall, this is not real bad, but also not real good. I’ve had some good beers this evening, and I really do not want to bias my rating of this, but I’m not real impressed.

Aug 13, 2004 Not very complex but elegant. Dark, almost black colour, thin brown head, black coffee in aroma, good roasty and chocolate notes in the palate. An OK session dry stout.
