Bottle. A gorgeous looking black beer with a dense. finger-thick, tan head. Peat, licorice, sea, some dried fruits, beefstock, tar and burnt malts in the aroma, quite complex, but sort of too much on the burnt side. The flavor is much the same, but troubled with some vegetal notes. Medium body, rather dry, and a roasted bitterness in the finish. I’m not certain if I like the flavor of this one, but the aroma is rather fancy. 090724

Bottled: Redbrown coloured. Dense brownish head. Lasting. Roasty and chocolatish aroma. Full and malty. Flavour is weak. This beer is all about aroma. Light roastyness, smoke and a distinct watery charachter. Light fruity and light bitter end. Not a top notch dry stout.

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a dense and thick foamy head. Slightly sweet and moderately roasted dark malty aroma with notes of (milk-)chocolate, leather, mocha, peat and subtle berry-fruity notes. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dry mouthfeel, moderately roasted and peaty malty taste with notes of chocolate and subtle fruits; dry and moderately roasty and hop bitter, also a bit slim finish. Still a very aromatic and peaty Stout. 09.XI.09

This pours a very deep, nearly black body with a thick, creamy light brown head that "laces" in sheets as you drink. The aroma is of lightly roasted malts with a splash of coffee and cream and a light smokiness. Very smooth and soothing palate. The flavor continues with the lightly roasted malts, coffe & cream, a hint of smoke, and just a dab of bittersweet chocolate. Very good sessionable beer.

Near balck with a smaller tan head. Very strong sweet malt aromas. Somewhat watery in feel. Sweet dark malts with additional flavors of dark chocolate and molassas. A bit unbalanced.

Pitch black color with lots of tan head and lacing. The head stays around for the long hall. The aroma is very roasted with lots of french roast coffee & milk chocolate notes as well, light soy sauce once it warms up. The flavor is very smoky and nonassertive. Very balanced finish, not too bad, good solid flavors and a good finish.

Bottle. Black color with a large light brown head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate roasted balanced flavor with a smooth bitter sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew.

Bottled. A big black beer with a nice tan coloured head. The aroma is full and roasty with lots of coffee notes. The taste is also nicely roasty with a little fruitiness at the end for good measure. A really good beer with typical stouty qualities.
