Oct 24, 2009 Compact 500ml bottle carried back home from Centra Colosseum Park, Oslo. The beige-brownish head stays well and is packed with small dimples. More or less Devil black in body appearance. Nice label, too. Prominent smell of dark chocolate with hints of liquorice. Taste of peatsmoke malts and roasted grain, paired with hints of leafy hops developing into a relatively short bitter ending. Dry textured. Good, but a bit thin bodied. However, a beer that grows on your palate (at home, Tromsø 23.10.2009).

Jan 18, 2008 Pours an ebony color, ith glints of a burnt brown peeking in around the edges. Aroma is roasted, with the typical and called for coffee and cocoa notes. Some dark fruits do seem to try and come through as well. The flavor is a bit odd, touch of acidity, and tons of coffee, but there is an odd component, herbal perhaps, that is a bit out of sorts. Not bad.

Dec 8, 2009 Pours black with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is roasty, slightly smoky malts, with hints of chocolate. Flavor is also roasty and smoky, but fairly light bodied for the style. Not bad.

Nov 26, 2007 500 ml. Opaque black with a medium-sized head that lasts. Aroma is espresso, char, and spicy dark chocolate. Flavors of spicy smoke and charred wood dominate initially, but some dark chocolate and coffee come through later. Palate is nearly medium bodied, watery, and airy-frothy on the finish.

Mar 25, 2008 Bottle pours an opaque black with a thick dark tan head that lingers like a frothy cappuccino. Aroma of bitter chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, and dried fruit. Bitter flavor that includes a nice mix of chocolate, coffee, and smokiness. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
