Almost a float like appearance to it. An aroma of malt and burnt chocolate and coffee. A flavor of malt and coffee. A slightly burnt aspect to the finish, but not in a bad way, and a little lighter than I thought it would be.

Great creamy mouthfeel with relaxed malty flavors. Assertive hoppiness kicks in and then vanishes leaving a nice warm finish. Tmoney99 (4797), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Moderate roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate roasted balanced flavor with a smooth bitter sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid drinkable brew. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2005 Looks wicked in the glass. A full rich muddy head that lingers. Little bits of lumpy lace. Deepest opaque brown. Trace of anise in the nose, giving way to roasted malt. Aroma is late, but big on roasted cocoa beans. Vanilla. Misses a bit on the finish, but not too much. Quaffable, and not over the top like many US stouts. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Aroma is roast with a hint of cherries.
Body is a bit watery with a roast and chocolate flavor and a metalic flavor on the finish. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2004 A deep black color with visible carbonation during the pour. The head is a light brown and rocky. Lacing is good ‘n sticky. Aroma is like a chocolate mousse; chocolaty, and lightly alcoholic with some roasted notes. Flavor is surprisingly bitter in the middle (the start is quite undetectable) and lacking in a sweetening balance. Palate is light bodied and watery with a lingering bite. The flavor seems to improve over time, although it is still quite one-dimensional.

Pours a mocha colored head of good duration, over an utterly opaque blackish brown body.....nose is heavily roasted malts with coffee chocolate and a bit of molasses.... tastes of dry malts, much less sweetness than the nose would suggest, finishes dry with a bit of lingering vanilla and coffee....mouthfeel is light , but creamy, an interesting brew. An almost perfect example of a dry stout.
